The Story of Koraverd
Koraverd is the Wizard name conveyed unto me by the powers that be. That is the way the story begins. You see, for that story, in its telling began right here. Meet Koraverd the Unstruck wielder of Anahata
The original name was Kevin the Green, but it evolved to Koraverd. Partly because the domain was available in .com. But there is more to learn in the telling. The name Koraverd is derived from the Latin names for Heart, “Cor” and Green, “Viridi”. I know this because I am the one who created the name, or at least observed, and am now documenting, its creation. It was actually created from a stream of consciousness, as is most of life. It also has ties to Sanskrit’s Heart Chakra, “Anahata” which is also associated with the color green.
My staff was given the name Anahata by a spiritual teacher who suggested that should be my Wizard name. But Anahata already has a very long history and tradition in Yoga, and while the same spirit lies at the core, it would be wrong and confusing as a wizard name.
Chronologically, the path that led to Koraverd is:
Common Name:
“Kevin the Green” emerged in 2018 or 2019 as it was becoming apparent that a greater power was influencing my path.
Staff Name:
“Anahata” was suggested as a Wizard name in the Spring of 2020 during the initial phase of the Covid 19 pandemic. This is the time of the trials and tribulations placed upon my spirit and body as part of the process of guiding me to a path heretofore unknown. It is not known if this period has been completed at the time of this writing. One would hope so.
It was determined that the name Anahata was not appropriate for a person, but was most suitable for a wizard’s staff as it would be the tool of a wizard bound to love, and called by balance, calmness, and serenity (see Anahata section).
Wizard Name:
The name Koraverd was presented on October 20, 2020 during the first fall of snow for the season. It emerged from the energy of love and the color green, delivered as a stream of consciousness interaction between the brain and the Internet. The name began with the sprouting of a thought that had been hidden but growing. It stemmed from three words: Kevin, Heart, Green.
My brain that is capable of speaking Spanish brought out Corazon Verde, meaning Heart Green. The next search was for the Latin Terms, since Spanish is Latin derived. And that brings us to Cor and Viridi. Of course we can’t leave out Kevin the Green, so we take off the hat to the creator and throw in the K. But Koraviridi is kinda hard to say, so we look to the Spanish for verd and we come up with Koraverd. Five consonants, three vowels, no large clusters of either, and the ability to say the name when you are completely drunk. Koraverd.
Full Name:
I am Kevin the Green, Kevin Corazon Verde, Wielder of Anahata, Koraverd the Unstruck, Koraverd, me.
And on the day after the name was bestowed upon me, the sky was afreeze with ice crystals and smoke from fires in Colorado. And the land was rendered cold, dark and orange. It was ominous to behold.
So I fed the birds.
