Crossing the threshold, my introduction to energy healing

There is much that we do not understand. We don’t know what we don’t know. And sometimes when our eyes are open and we see something completely new, or in a new light, it can be a profound experience. This is the tale of one such experience that Koraverd experienced along the path. The tale is told here using images and words that written by Koraverd in text messages to the healer that guided them through this experience.

Blinded by a Migraine

On April 11, 2021, Koraverd experienced a migraine that left him temporarily blind in one eye. This was followed by days of migraines that came one after the next.

A call for help

Then on April 15 after days of back-to-back migraines, Koraverd reached out for help. He was under distress and the traditional western methods of healing were not working. The idea was to try smoke cleansing, or what is sometimes called smudging.

Smoke cleansing has been widely used across cultures and belief systems. There is much discussion about these practices, and the term “smudging” has become widely associated with Native American Indigenous culture. It is valuable and culturally sensitive to familiarize yourself with the practice and cultural implications of such rituals.

Smoke Cleansing, Reiki and Chakra healing

That afternoon Koraverd arrived to pick up the Sage and Paulo Santo wood that had been offered to him. When he arrived to pick up the materials, the Cosmos had arranged things such that there was an opportunity for the healer to directly work with Koraverd. The healer asked if Koraverd was open to energy healing.

With no hesitancy Koraverd agreed and was escorted to a room with a massage table. He was asked to lie on the table and clear his mind as best possible in preparation for a healing ceremony, focusing only on his breathing. The healer then performed a ceremony which included smoke cleansing using Paulo Santo wood as the source, Reiki healing, and Chakra healing with wind chimes. And while Koraverd cannot tell what happened, he documented the experience later in the day in a series of text messages to the healer. The content of those texts unabridged is what follows.

I’m going to write down my impression here while it is still fresh in my mind. This may be long.

This experience was much.

I was thinking on my way there that maybe this all was just me being susceptible to the power of suggestion.

If that is true, I am really, really susceptible. I believe there is definitely something here, even if it is just the power of my mind.

The first wave – tactile

The first wave was tactile, and it continued throughout the session and beyond. It is 90 minutes after I walked out the door, and I am still feeling the tangible physical effects of energy flowing along my skin, and the hairs on my arms and legs are still standing on end.

The tactile began almost instantly after you lit the smudge and I smelt the smoke. It felt like waves of energy were flowing down my skin, most prominent in my legs, flowing toward my feet. They were very distinct waves at first, one wave starting at my hips and making its way down to my ankles and then dispersing like a wave into shore. Then another individual wave and another until there were multiple waves flowing down my legs simultaneously.

It happened in my arms too, but not as distinctly and not as quickly. Though the after effects are more pronounced on my arms than legs.

The second wave – cerebral

The second wave was in my thoughts. As I focused on an intention for the session, my father and two of my three siblings came to my mind. My dad and sister were forefront and dominant, and my younger brother was there at a lesser degree. My mother and older brother did not present themselves.

I set the intention on my family members that presented and settled in for the ride letting go of my thoughts and becoming an observer.

This happened very quickly.

The third wave – olfactory

The third wave was olfactory.

But this was more the medium than the message.

And while this would seem to be an obvious aspect of the experience, it was more catalyst than outcome and seems like the canvas that holds the paint, essential but not existential.

The fourth wave – sight

The fourth wave is as remarkable as the tactile, and it took place in the area I am calling the sight. Not optical as my eyes were closed, but as clear in my mind as it would have been through my eyes. This really taps into my meditation practice that I am now doing daily.

This sight comes in waves as well.

As I settled into deeper meditation, it is like going through a series of layers that will give way to deeper, clearer and more meaningful vision. It is a tricky thing because I have to find a balance of focus and being. I have to focus to clear the way to get to being, but I have to then release the focus to keep it from interfering with being.

When I accomplish this, that is when I have access to see my chi.

Background

Background: In my morning meditation today, I had found a small but solid block in my chi, presenting as a black dot. I had cleared that in my morning meditation, but the underlying knot was still there. That knot presented again in this fourth wave. The sight let me see my chi flow. The knot was diminished and visible not so much as itself, but in the influence it was having on the visible chi flow, a disturbance.

As the smoke circulated in the room, it also circulated in my sight. It appeared much like chocolate sauce flowing down ice cream with a distinct wave, edge and substance. But it also had the movement of clouds at the top of a thundercloud forming in summer heat, bubbling up, circulating and being replaced by the next surge of energy that overtook it. But the waves were coming from different directions, dark in appearance and headed toward the chi knot. Sometimes the waves diminished as they neared the knot, sometimes they went past it and dissipated. It seemed the knot was weakening with each blow. It reached a point where the knot was being moved about by the waves, and the waves would flow around it like ocean waves that encounter a shell as they climb up the sand on shore. They never eliminated the tiny knot, but it was diminished.

Then I fell out of the vision and that was it. That was just before you introduced the mantra.

The fifth wave – audible

The fifth wave was audible. The chimes joined when the waves were washing on the knot. They were like little audible sparkles in the surf, and they made the experience all the more beautiful.

How cool is that?

Afterwards

At the time this article is being posted, It has now been 4 months and Koraverd has not experienced another migraine. Koraverd has been moved to a new place as a result of this experience. They seek more knowledge about the energies at work and is working toward level 1 Reiki attunement.

Deer Whisperer

Whitetail doe completely unaware of Koraverd

Wild animals, especially those that are hunted and killed by humans, have a natural distrust of humans that stems from the predator / prey relationship they hold.

The video below shows an interaction between Koraverd and a whitetail doe that lasted for 15 minutes. Most of the time the deer was both aware and unaware of Koraverd’s presence even though he was in open site. If you watch carefully, Anahata makes a cameo appearance in this video a few times.

Tales as told by the Wizard Koraverd

As one might imagine, there are many tales to be told by a person who is a Wizard. While I am just starting to make this a website, the number of stories I tell will grow.

Koraverd in fire light

I am a man who enjoys spinning a yarn, stretching a story until it is a Tall Tail, flowery in the use of language and unwilling to let the truth stand in the way of telling a good story. Now that is not to say I will tell you lies, because that I will not do. But part of being a Wizard is knowing how to get people’s attention, and then leave them wondering, or even wandering.

No children or animals, or even adults have been harmed in the creation and telling of these stories. If anything, people who encounter my stories are introduced to the reality of magic, the magic of music, and the laughter that often accompanies a night around a campfire when everyone is eating, drinking and enjoying the simpler things in life.

If at sunset, you are greeted by the howling of a Wizard, make sure to respond in kind. Howling is an informal greeting and is often enjoyed by children and adults who have not become too important to enjoy a good howl.
